Title: not that scary, eh?

Story:
It was a chilly night, well, not for him it wasn't. He was dead. It's pretty hard to be cold when you are dead. He was quite bored, it had now been nearly ten years since the last time he got to scare anybody, they had eventually grown wary of him and began avodiing his place. He let out and exasperated sigh and shook his head.
She listened to the screaming for two hours. All the while, tears were streaming down her face. Finally she heard a moment of silence, but it was short lived when she head a loud thud and foot steps heading her way. She panicked and jumped out of her bead and tip toed over to her window and pulled it open. She leaned out trying to grab onto a tree branch, trying not to make any sounds. She finally got a hold of it and climbed down the tree, when she touched the ground she heard her door open. She started to run, looking for somewhere to hide, but the question was, how would she avoid being found?
He heard foot steps approaching his house, for a moment he thought they would pass by, and leave him to his silent after life once again, but they kept growing louder until he heard the door creak open.
At last she found a place to hide, it was an old decreped place. She'd heard the rumors, this house was supposed to be haunted, but she didn't belive in ghosts. She made her way up some stairs, into the attic of the house. Her father would never look there for her. At least she thought so.
He saw a little girl enter his room, the attic, and thought of all the ways he could scare her. There were so many possibilities. He finally setled on one, creaking floor boards, blood oozing from the walls, and other creepy sounds. He snuck up behind her making the floor boards creak, he reached out and touched the walls making blood ooze slowly down them, and with his other hand he grabbed some old rusty chains off the floor and began to drag them behind him.
She tensed up at first, until she saw the blood and heard the chains. Her father was a powerful man, but even he could not do this. "who's there?" her voice was firm, not even portraying and fear.
"why don't you scream?" he was quite irritated when he saw her relax at the sight of the blood, I mean who wouldn't be?
"because there are greater things to fear, and I do not belive in ghosts. Lost souls perhaps, but not ghosts." She didn't even flinch as he suddenly appeared right in front of her making a weird face. In fact she almost giggled, it was too amusing. "you are funny. What's you're name?"
"it's Mamuyo, I've been in this house for almost 900 years. What's yours squirt?" he was not sure why, but he was starting to enjoy her company. This was new to him, usually he wanted to be alone, but now he didn't. it was so perplexing.
"my name is maia, but I'm not supposed to be here. I am on the run, but that's just between us, okay?" she gave him a big, toothy smile as he nodded. She was just about to speak again when they heard the attic door slam open, they had been too wrapped up in their short conversation to her another person enter the house.
"Maia, oh my, you shouldn't have run. No, I'm going to have to punish you." He was still holding the broom which he'd used to kill maia's mother. And he slowly advanced upon her, not noticing the ghostly form of mamuyo.
Why he cared, he did not know, but when he saw maia cowerring under the glare of that man, whom he assumed to be her father, he felt enraged. He became invisible and began to move towards the man. In his moment of anger and haste he forgot one thing. He could not interfere with the little girls fate. If the god's chose her to die, then she would die. Sure enough as he lunged for the man he passed right through. "damn it. I am sorry maia. I cannot help you." Even his voice did not reach the man. He couldn't scare him away, he couldn't do anything but watch the poor little girl be beaten to death.
She awoke many hours later, only to see her body, almost unrecognizable, beneath her. She cried, it was over, her life had barely even begun and it had ended so soon. She hardly noticed when mamuyo wrapped his arms around her and whispered "it'll be okay. You can stay with me." She was the newest resident ghost of this earth, only three people knew why and that was how it would stay.
Comments: Maia (may-a) is my favourite character to use. i thought she'd be perfect. i kinda made this a bit sad....but it's how i write best i guess. i hope you like it.
