Racing through tatered street and broken he homes, he came across an open door. Finding no other place to hide, he slipped inside. He made his around the room, making sure no to be see by the light that shun through the windows, he stepped back into the shadows. A high pitched scream filled the soft air of the home, he turned softly making sure not to run into the cause of the problem. As his face turned his eyes met the soft blue contrats of a little girl, not of the elven race as himself, but very cute none the less. He looked closer at her, seeing the fear in her eyes, he wondered how old she was, no more then four he guessed. He had no time to think further as his attention leaped to his right hand side. Shattered glass erupted from the corner of his eye, as a long shadowy figure climbed through the window. He leaped to his left pikng up the girl as he ran. he traveled only as far as he knew he could go before dropping the girl into a small crevice along the side of an alley-way. He set the girl down peerig deep into the soft confused eyes of the little girl, he began chanting. he saw the expression of the girl change again as tears bagan flowing from the frail eyes Mareo had would now try to seek shelter in. He grasped her shoulder, whispering the words moe franticly as he heard foot steps in the distance of the shadows. A white light surrounded him as the familiar feeling too him over. He opened his eyes to see a vast land of green grass and flowing oceans. He sat own looking back into the eyes f the girl, he had entered her dreams, a daydream of a little girl being as pur as he knew, he figured that no shadow-men could ever enter. It had been a long time since that day, he sat now playing with the girls toys, he ha learned so very much about her since that first day. he had learned that her parents had been killed by a shadow-men when they refused to pay debt to one of the corrupt shadow-men officials. And so she was a orpahend, scared little girl, looking for a home which she had finally come apon in a dream. He stood up holding his staff at his side. he could not help but stiffle a laugh as the girl tugged at his cape eagerly, holding a set of dolls in her other hand. he knew it would soon be his time to go...he knew the shadow-men would soon fnd their way into the girls dreams...he could not risk losing her...He just couldent...but how could he say goodbye?? ...To be Continued...
