Character's Story:
Hello world! How was your today? Oh, truly? That's quite fascinating! Now let me tell you about mine.

As you probably already see, I am an android. Who could miss the branding they gave me? I suppose that is why they gave it to me, though. So I couldn't be mistaken for one of the normal folk.

I love to explore big cities, don't you? When you get past the glamour of a place and reach its inner streets, you can almost see and feel and smell its secrets, hidden behind every door. But for an android, being so far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life can be dangerous. There are those who despise the government for brainwashing scientists to create us, and they tend to take it out on the ones that are easier to grab.

So went another day of my mischief in the back alleys of Neo-New York. I was following the feeling of a particularly interesting secret along a row of rundown buildings, searching for any sign of emotional imprint left in the air. It was something you humans call love, but it felt very strange; almost sad. I was so deeply involved in searching for the reasoning behind the secret that I hadn't noticed the group of android bashers that had surrounded me, leaving only skyward as a way out. Of course, I have no way to fly, so I was quite stuck where I was.

The leader of this group was very handsome (I know this because I was given the personality of a young girl), and I wanted nothing more than to be friendly with him, in hopes that he would be attracted to me as well; but I knew well enough that I would have my metal and plastic heart torn out if I tried. Why did these men hate me so? The biggest crime I made to them was being created, and I obviously had no way to influence that decision.

"C5, that's a pretty weak model," one of the smaller men said to the leader, who grew even more handsome when his pink lips curled into a grin. I was feeling afraid then, but not for my life. These men could never do any harm that couldn't be fixed. I was afraid of the things I might have to do to them.

They were correct in thinking I was a weak model. C5s are generally equipped with high "brain capacity" and superior thinking skills, while lacking physical strengths. I, of course, am no ordinary C5.

They charged at me with a rainbow of different weapons. It fascinated me that each member had a different weapon. The short and round man had a short knife that fit his stature well. The tall and muscular man had a spear-like weapon that was taller than he was. I looked around at the men as they charged forward, catching glimpses of their eyes and taking in the emotions that seeped through their skin and into the air. Fear, anger, hatred, grief, all the feelings you would expect from a group of android bashers. I finally made a full circle and locked eyes with the handsome man. He had beautiful eyes, like a thousand green forests locked away into round gems.

I picked up his emotions from the air with a start; sympathy and sadness mixed together with what seemed to be love. It was the secret I was looking for when I came to this place; the one I still didn't understand.

There was a brief opening in the line of men, so I took the opportunity. I ran forward and grabbed the man around the waist, pulling him back and away from the others. As I kept running with him unable to move in my arms, I realized this man had no weapon. Was he planning on hurting my synthetic skin with his bare hands?

"Where are you taking me?", he shouted finally, regaining his breath. By that time, we were quite far away from the rest of the android bashers and I was sure they couldn't find us. I stopped and set him down in front of an ancient looking building that must have been abandoned for many years.

I hesitated. What was I doing? Being curious is one thing, but going this far to find an answer is a little strange. I answered him anyway, saying, "You had no weapon. Why? You could never hurt me that way."

His golden hair ruffled in the breeze slightly as I watched him think. I estimated his age to be slightly older than my body appeared; about 17. Finally, after taking in the rest of his wonderful appearance, he answered, "I know you from somewhere. I wanted to get you away from the others without them knowing, and grabbing you and running away was the only way I could think of. I guess I was a little slow though, because you got to it first." His explanation ended with a chuckle that seemed to dance through the air like a hundred flying birds. I suddenly felt like a school girl, back when I was being passed off as a normal human. What happy times those were!

Comments: ^_^; I got too lazy to finish the story, but it's alright as it is. Keeps you wondering! This was a very fun character to create, yes. I like her a whole lot ^__^ As a matter of fact, I may just keep her around for later ^____^ Anyway, I sketched her with pencil and paper, scanned, computer inked and colored in PSP since it's so easy to use. Enjoy!
