Character's Story: Toshiro and Tokiano were walking down the street. It was a busy day in Tokyo as always and the streets were crowded. High School was over with, and college was coming up. They were discussing the subject as they passed the many people in suits. “Let me guess,” Toshiro said, “you got accepted to Tokyo University?” “Actually,” Tokiano replied, “I did.” Toshiro looked down. There was no way that he was going to get accepted to that kind of school. Brains wasn’t his strong suit. But he needed Tokiano around to help him with his problems. And yet, she had helped him so much when he had nothing to give her in return, it would be selfish of him to beg her stay with him. “I’m sorry,” Tokiano said, “I really am.” “It’s not your fault, and besides, you can’t baby-sit me forever,” Toshiro replied. “Hey, I’ve got an idea! Why don’t we try to get houses close to each other? Or if we’re getting apartments….” Toshiro interrupted her, “Don’t worry about me, I’m eighteen! I can take care of myself.” “But, what if…” “If anything happens, I can take care of myself. Heck, I’m not very social, so I won’t be out much.” “Well, that is true,” Tokiano laughed as she gave Toshiro a friendly punch. “Hey, I’ve got to get home, see you tomorrow!” Tokiano said as she dashed off. Toshiro decided to go home himself. About a block from his home, he heard an unfamiliar voice speak from the alley way. “I’d keep an eye on your friend if I were you.” Toshiro, slightly startled but not enough to confuse his DNA, turned to see who it was, but no one was there. He shrugged it off and went home. He sat on the couch, he tried to forget the words of the mysterious stranger, but nothing could make that bad feeling go away. Finally he got up to call Tokiano. “Hello, we’re not in right now, leave a message after the tone.” Frustrated, Toshiro slammed the phone down on the reciever. She should’ve been home by now, thought Toshiro. He decided that just to be safe, he would go over to her house. It was almost completely dark, and it was raining hard. Toshiro jumped in his car and headed to Tokiano’s house. He knocked on the door, but no one would answer. “Hello?! Is anyone there?” He opened the door. He gasped. The house was completely ransacked. Desks were turned over and papers were thrown everywhere. Toshiro ran into Tokiano’s bedroom. He saw a note on her mirror. It read: Toshiro, They’re coming for me, I can feel their presence approaching. There’s nothing I can do. They know about my ability somehow. They’ve been tracking me for a long time. I’ll try to hold them off but I know it will do me no good. Please, don’t come looking for me. I’m sorry I won’t be able to help you anymore. Goodbye Tokiano Terror took Toshiro. He began to change again. “Now, don’t go doing that,” Toshiro heard a voice say. Toshiro’s transforming stopped. It was the same person who warned him about Tokiano. “Who are you?” Toshiro asked. It was a boy about two years older than Toshiro, he had shoulder length brown hair and green eyes. “My name is Yuni. And let’s just say that we have a lot in common,” he replied. “What do you mean?” Toshiro asked. “I have special abilities, just like you. But, no time to chat, do you want to rescue Tokiano or not?” “How’d you…?” “No time!” he urged, “we must go now!” Yuni took Toshiro to a large building. He led him inside through the air vent system and into a dark room. There was only one light. It came from a tank. And inside was… “Tokiano!!” Toshiro yelled. A large helmet was strapped to her head. Her eyes were closed as if asleep. Toshiro ran up to her and slammed his hands onto the glass, but it didn’t even crack. “No…” Toshiro began to change, the DNA was confused. “NO! Not now! Don’t change now!” Toshiro heard Yuni’s voice but he couldn’t stop the changing. Suddenly, the changing stopped and Toshiro looked up. Tokiano’s eyes were opened. She looked straight at Toshiro. Her eyes were sad. Toshiro looked at Yuni, his hands were on the computer system to Tokiano’s tank. His eyes glowed green, and it seemed as though he was speaking a strange language. Toshiro heard a noise like a computer shutting down. The tank that Tokiano was in emptied, and the helmet unstrapped. An alarm began to sound. Yuni looked at Toshiro and Tokiano and said, “Run, back through the air ducts.” “But,” Toshiro began. “NOW!!” Yuni demanded. They did as he said. They watched as Yuni began to fight the oncoming guards. The two then began their escape out of the building. The last thing Toshiro heard was a gunshot, then all was quiet. TWO YEARS LATER “I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.” Toshiro looked Tokiano in the eyes as they embraced, then kissed. Toshiro could now control his problem completely, and he was happily in love with Tokiano. Who was now safe in his arms. They would be together for all eternity. And he shall never forget Yuni. For if it wasn’t for his sacrifice, he wouldn’t have had such a happy ending. But, Toshiro must wonder, if Yuni had the same problem that he and Tokiano had, then…how many others were there? Comments: Sorry that the backround is so random, but I'm not good with backrounds. My scanner's not hooked up so I drew the picture in paint. I had a lot of fun doing the story. |
