Character's Story:
Lily loves to read fantasy books. Spring break has just started, and she plans on spending every minute she can finishing a terrific new series.

Since she’s started this series, she’s been having wonderful dreams that she remembers clearly when she wakes up. In each of her dreams is a handsome elf named Mareo. He and Lily have become close friends and love to have adventures in the forest where he lives.

Lily feels more for Mareo than she can tell him. She’s been wrestling with this for days. How can you tell an elf in a dream that you love him? "No!" she denies it to herself, "This cannot be." She’ll just enjoy the dreams as long as they last. Besides, if she told anyone they’d tell her she’s crazy!

The next night in Lily’s dreams, Mareo had a sad look in his eyes. He took Lily’s hands in his and said, "I love you Lily. I have to leave soon on a journey. I don’t know when I’ll see you again." He took his silver acorn pendant off and carefully put it around Lily’s neck, "Please, keep this for me until I see you again." The pendant has been in his family for generations, his family crest.

"But, where are you going?", Lily inquired, her eyes filling with tears.

As soon as he was about to answer, Lily was awakened. Her eyes opened to see lightning flashes and she heard a deafening peel of thunder. She shook her head to gather her bearings and wake up. The storm outside was growing worse.

"OH WHY DID I HAVE TO WAKE UP????", she muttered bitterly. She started to crawl out of bed to turn on the TV for information on the storm. As she leaned forward and stood up, she felt something hit her chest. She gasped. It was Mareo’s pendant. Her heart raced.

"How can this be?", she thought to herself. "It was just a dream! But I have his pendant?" In a daze, she caressed the pendant. She felt a soft click. Even more surprised, she opened the pendant to find a small note. Taking a deep breath, she opened the note. It read,

"Please return to:
Mareo Takigachi
3415 Bay View Drive
Tokyo, Japan"

Trembling, she held the note to her heart.

Meanwhile, the storm had awakened Mareo too. Groggily, opened his eyes and reached for his pendant, with the dream still dancing in hie head. It wasn’t there! But he always put it in the same place. "Could it possibly be?" He had dreamed of his sweet elf girl each night, since starting this new series of books. His heart skipped a beat. "But, elves aren’t real!" And he remembered in his dreams he was an elf too. "Hmm", he sighed hopefully. "But, I leave tonight," he pouted and stomped out play his guitar, hoping it would soothe him. Would she find the note?

Lily got dressed as fast as she could. She didn’t care what the weather was like or that it was only 2 in the morning. Even, a tsunami wouldn’t keep her from going. She HAD to find Mareo. It seemed like forever before she reached Bay View Drive.

Shaking and shivering, she ran to the door. It was hard to lift her hand to the doorbell. "What if it’s not him?", she doubted to herself.

The bell startled Mareo. "Who could it be at this hour?", he thought as he scampered to the door.

The door opened. Mareo sheepishly ran his hands through his disheveled hair. Rain soaked, Lily held out her wet hand and slowly opened it, revealing the pendant. They both smiled.

Comments: I'm new to drawing manga/anime. I thought it would be fun to enter to see if I could even create something worth entering.
